Boosting Local Sales for a Home Improvement Store with Vici’s Mobile Conquesting StrategyIn today’s competitive home improvement market, standing out among big-box retailers is no small feat. Our recent campaign with a multi-location home improvement store proved that with the right digital marketing strategy, even local businesses can gain a competitive edge. Here’s how Vici’s Mobile Conquesting approach helped drive significant in-store traffic and boost sales, positioning our client as the go-to local leader in home improvement. The Challenge: Competing with National ChainsOur client, a regional home improvement store, wanted to make a strong statement in the local market. The primary goal was to increase foot traffic and in-store sales, especially against larger chains like Home Depot and Lowe’s, by highlighting the benefits of shopping local. Vici Media crafted a campaign that would not only increase their customer visits but also build brand loyalty by reaching potential shoppers at the right time and place.

The Strategy: Mobile Conquesting with Hyper-Targeted Geo-Fencing

To capture the attention of high-intent audiences, we implemented a Mobile Conquesting strategy using our hyper-targeted mobile exchange. This approach allowed us to engage customers in their local area who had previously visited competitor stores or shown interest in home improvement, home building, and renovation topics. We designed two primary tactics for the campaign:

  1. Competitor Targeting – By identifying individuals who had visited competing home improvement stores, we served them mobile ads that highlighted the benefits of shopping with our client. This created top-of-mind awareness and positioned our client as the more convenient, community-oriented alternative.
  2. Geo-Fenced Targeting – We set up geo-fences around the client’s locations to engage those within specific zip codes who were interested in home improvement or had recently moved to the area. This precision allowed us to reach people with high potential to visit the store.

The Results: Significant Increase in Foot Traffic and Sales

Our hyper-targeted approach exceeded expectations, delivering impressive results. By the end of the campaign, our client achieved:

  • 800 verified in-store visits from individuals who saw our ads and physically entered a location.
  • 502 unique visitors, indicating a broad reach and effective engagement strategy.
  • Nearly 1,000 clicks to their website, showing that interest extended beyond in-store visits to online engagement as well.

Not only was our client thrilled with the initial campaign, but they also committed to renewing for the next season. The success of this first digital flight has set the stage for even greater achievements, as we plan to promote their new e-commerce site in the upcoming campaign, alongside continued mobile ad targeting. If your business needs a high-impact, cost-effective marketing strategy, contact Vici Media today to learn more about our white-label digital solutions. For more information, email support@vicimediainc.com.
