Reaching a Younger Audience for a Local Credit Union

A local credit union with seven branches faced a growing challenge: their current membership base was aging, and they needed a fresh, dynamic approach to reach younger audiences. With the goal of building brand awareness and highlighting the advantages of credit union membership, they turned to Vici Media for a digital marketing solution that could effectively engage a new, younger demographic

The Strategy

To capture the attention of younger consumers, we developed a multi-channel campaign focused on visual and audio-driven content. By highlighting the credit union’s range of services—from checking and savings accounts to credit-building programs, mortgage loans, and personal loan programs—we created a campaign designed to resonate with potential members exploring financial options online

To maximize reach, we implemented the following digital advertising tactics

  • Amazon Targeting with Video & OTT Placement: This ensured that our video content reached users interested in banking and financial services across Amazon’s vast network.
  • Online Audio Ads: Through strategically placed online audio ads, we expanded the campaign’s reach to listeners on popular streaming platforms.
  • Social Mirror OTT & TikTok Ads: Recognizing that social media plays a crucial role in reaching younger audiences, we utilized OTT (over-the-top) social mirror ads and launched a targeted TikTok campaign to engage users where they spend much of their time.

The Results

The campaign ran from April 1 through August 31, and the results were outstanding. We delivered over 1 million ads across video, OTT, and online audio channels, precisely targeted to audiences with interests in banking services, financial services, credit cards, and various credit profiles

The Amazon Video blend and TikTok campaigns generated impressive engagement, achieving click-through rates between 1.72% and 2.26%. Our efforts to drive foot traffic were also successful, with over 2,000 verified visits to the credit union’s locations, a testament to the impact of our Online Audio and Social Mirror OTT ads

The most significant outcome was the credit union’s reported increase in website activity, which tripled during the campaign period. With heightened online presence and engagement, the credit union experienced a substantial uptick in new account sign-ups and loan applications—demonstrating the powerful, measurable impact of a well-executed digital marketing strategy
