A mid-priced furniture chain wanted to ramp up traffic for their upcoming holiday sale event, while also increasing overall customer visits throughout the year. Featuring large showrooms with high-quality furniture sets for living rooms, kitchens, and outdoor spaces, the client’s goal was to attract customers looking to upgrade their homes with pieces that would last for years. While they had already utilized traditional radio and TV marketing, along with digital channels like Facebook and Google, there was one powerful platform they had yet to explore: Amazon’s demand-side platform

The Strategy: A Fresh Approach with Amazon Premium

The client needed a strategy that would not only showcase a variety of furniture pieces but also target key segments of potential buyers. To achieve this, Vici Media recommended Amazon Premium, offering the client multiple ad formats including Display, Video, and OTT. For this campaign, the client chose Amazon Display Ads and implemented three strategic targeting methods

  • Amazon Behavioral Targeting: Reaching consumers actively shopping for furniture, mattresses, and outdoor living products.
  • Amazon Product Targeting: Targeting ads to individuals browsing specific products similar to the client’s offerings.
  • Amazon Retargeting: Bringing back customers who had visited the client’s website but hadn’t yet made a purchase.

By using eye-catching creative that featured their top products, the campaign drove traffic to the holiday specials page on the client’s website, while positioning their brand in front of consumers at key moments in their shopping journey

The Results: Driving Holiday Sales and Long-Term Growth

With the introduction of Amazon Display Ads, the client’s ads appeared in premium placements they had never before reached, including Amazon.com, IMDb.com, and thousands of top-tier websites on Amazon Publishers. Over the course of the campaign, the client saw click-through rates 3x the national average, with some ad creatives generating over 6x the national average

This visibility and engagement directly contributed to the success of their holiday sale, bringing in hundreds of new customers and significantly boosting both traffic and sales. Branding on a new platform not only expanded their reach but also introduced their furniture chain to a new audience previously untapped by their existing digital efforts
