How Are You Reaching Consumers Impacted by the Pandemic?
I was at the grocery store the other day and as I was waiting to check out (six feet behind the person in front of me of course) I caught myself staring at the cashier. I was thinking that he looked familiar, but I could not put my finger on who it was or how I knew him

Are You Taking Advantage of Digital Advertising for the Holidays?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Schools are back in session (somewhat), the nights and mornings are getting cooler, and the sun is setting earlier. Personally, I like to get every last bit out of summer that I can and consider summer to begin on Memorial Day weekend and go until midnight of the first day of Fall, but once September 22nd rolls around, we are officially into Fall

What Types of Businesses Are and Are Not Allowed to Digitally Advertise?
Update: Facebook shuttered Jobs on Facebook (February 2023) and Instant Articles (April 2023)One of my favorite games to play when I was a kid was “Red Light, Green Light”. This is a game where one person is “it” and stands a good distance away from the other players with their back to rest of the group; this person is considered the traffic light

How Can You Reach the Growing Hispanic Demographic with Digital Advertising?
When I tell people that I from New York, they immediately think that I am talking about the Big Apple; New York City. When I also tell people that I am from Mexico, they get a puzzled look on their face and think I am lost because I am an Irish American and don’t fit a typical Hispanic profile

What Are Your Competitors Doing for Digital Advertising?
When I was selling radio advertising, one of the very first things I did when I would get a new business on the air is to tell them they were about to get a lot of phone calls from other media groups. Different radio stations were going to call and ask for a meeting, along with other TV stations, local magazines, and billboard companies; it’s the nature of the beast

Targeting Ads on Smart Speakers, Smart Phones and Smart TVs, Are You Being Smart?
Everything you read and hear in the news right now is all about the coronavirus and it is being compared to the 1918-1920 flu pandemic, so I wanted to take a look and see how far we have come in the technology world in the past 100 years:1920: “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!” is what people would yell to sell newspapers, which was the main source of how people got their daily news2020: “Did you see what Karen posted about the other day on Facebook?! She’s so extra!” This is what people say on social media, the main source of how people get their daily news1920: TV was in its infancy (in 1928 the Federal Radio Commission issues the first television station license ) and had quite a ways to go before it would start becoming the norm in houses and businesses, and programming was limited at best2020: In most homes, there are more TVs than people, and we can binge watch an entire series in one weekend1920: When you ran out of sugar you would ask the next-door neighbor for a cup of sugar2020: When you run out of sugar, you ask Alexa to add sugar to your grocery list1920: “Hello Operator, I’d like to make a call to the Johnsons over on Main Street.”2020: “Why isn’t he answering my call?! I just texted him three seconds ago and I can see that he read the text!”There is no doubt that we have come a long way with technology, but the neat thing is that now we can use this technology to target consumers with digital advertising
