When a leading wholesale distributor of food and household products in New England needed to fill multiple positions for truck drivers and warehouse workers, they turned to Vici Media for a digital strategy that could drive a steady stream of qualified applicants. With a competitive industry facing high turnover rates, the distributor needed a solution that would consistently bring in qualified candidates for positions in areas like logistics, manufacturing, packaging, and more.

Strategy: Multi-Platform Approach to Attract Job Seekers

Our digital strategy focused on creating awareness and generating interest from both active and passive job seekers. The positions the client was looking to fill included a variety of roles, from CDL truck drivers to warehouse workers and positions within manufacturing, packaging, and operations logistics. We implemented a combination of OTT (Over-the-Top) advertising, Social Media, and Native Ads to reach a broad audience. With Recruitment Behavioral Targeting, we were able to hone in on individuals who were actively or passively seeking work in these fields. The approach also included Social Mirror Ads, which allowed us to target job seekers based on their online behavior, ensuring that the right people saw the right message. To push potential applicants further down the funnel, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads were also used. This allowed us to target candidates closer to making the decision to apply by placing ads in front of them as they were actively searching for jobs.

Results: Consistent Success Over a Full Year

The results of this year-long campaign were nothing short of impressive. Each month, the numbers showed consistency in the high engagement and effectiveness of the ads:

  • Click-through Rate (CTR) for Social, Social Mirror, and Native Ads: The campaign achieved an outstanding 0.94% CTR, which is 13x higher than the national average for similar campaigns. This level of engagement proved the targeting was effective in reaching the right job seekers.
  • Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Ads: The PPC strategy was particularly successful, achieving an incredible 22.81% CTR. This drove substantial interest, with over 2,000 calls per month and hundreds of applicants applying for the available positions.
  • High Volume of Qualified Applicants: The combination of strategies yielded a high volume of qualified applicants, ensuring the distributor was able to keep employee application volumes up, even in an industry with frequent turnover.

The steady success of the campaign meant that the distributor was able to keep hiring efforts consistently high throughout the year, filling positions and maintaining the necessary staffing levels.

Conclusion

This case study highlights the power of a multi-platform digital strategy in driving targeted recruitment efforts for industries facing hiring challenges. By combining OTT, social media, native ads, and PPC, we helped this New England distributor attract a large number of qualified applicants, reducing turnover and filling key positions quickly and efficiently. If your business needs a high-impact, cost-effective marketing strategy to find top talent or engage potential customers, contact Vici Media today to learn more about our white-label digital solutions. For more information, email support@vicimediainc.com.
