Driving Success: A Nationwide Truck Stop's Fleet Credit Card Campaign

When a nationwide truck stop aimed to boost applications for their fleet credit card, they knew they had to target the right audience: professional truck drivers with a CDL license. This required a precise and effective digital strategy.

A Tailored Digital Approach

To reach their desired demographic, the truck stop implemented a comprehensive online campaign that utilized Mobile Conquesting alongside Cross Platform Display Targeting. This dual approach ensured that their message would follow potential applicants across various digital platforms, enhancing visibility and engagement.

Key Components of the Strategy:

  • Mobile Conquesting: This method targeted truck drivers directly through their mobile devices, ensuring that the ads reached those who are most likely to be interested.
  • Cross Platform Targeting: By using a universal pixel, the campaign could track and connect users across different devices. This technology allowed the truck stop to serve display ads to individuals whether they clicked on the mobile ads or not, effectively keeping the brand top-of-mind.
  • Behavioral Targeting: The campaign focused on adults 18+ with a CDL/commercial license, utilizing specific behavioral categories related to the trucking industry. This included targeting truck drivers involved in various specialties like local trucking, oil transport, and refrigerated freight.
  • Geo-Fencing and Retargeting: The strategy also included geo-fencing around 99 truck stops, enabling the truck stop to retarget drivers who frequented these locations.

Impressive Results

The results of the campaign were noteworthy. Over the course of the initiative, the truck stop served just over 245,000 ads, achieving 464 clicks for a click-through rate of 0.19%—significantly higher than the national average of 0.07%.

Most importantly, the visit tracking revealed 147 verified visits to their locations, thanks to the effective mobile location targeting. Additionally, there were 15 desktop credit page views, indicating strong interest from potential applicants when they were at their computers.

Conclusion

This successful campaign illustrates how targeted digital strategies can effectively reach niche audiences and drive measurable results. By combining Mobile Conquesting with Cross Platform Display Targeting, the truck stop not only increased awareness of their fleet credit card but also fostered tangible engagement and foot traffic.
