When Domino's opened a new store in a fresh market, the goal was clear: generate buzz and drive foot traffic to the new location. With the aim of targeting pizza lovers and foodies in the area, they turned to Vici Media to create a high-impact campaign that would bring attention to the grand opening and encourage customers to place orders for some piping hot, freshly baked pizza

Strategy: Smart Targeting for Maximum Impact

To ensure the campaign reached the ideal audience, we developed a detailed customer profile based on demographics, psychographics, and behaviors. This gave us the data-driven insights needed to precisely target people who were most likely to respond to the campaign. The targeted audience included

  • Quick Service Diners: People who are used to fast, convenient meal options.
  • Pizza Lovers & Foodies: Those who regularly indulge in pizza or are passionate about food.
  • Working Parents: Dads and moms on the go looking for a tasty and easy meal solution.
  • Frequent Papa John’s Visitors: Pizza fans who may be open to trying a new brand.

By carefully selecting these audiences, we kept the reach wide enough to attract new customers while ensuring the campaign stayed relevant and specific

Results: A Grand Opening Success That Exceeded Expectations

The results of the campaign were nothing short of phenomenal. Within just six days of running the ads, the store had to temporarily pause the campaign because it was selling out of pizza every day. According to the franchisee, “The grand opening deal we ran (and our digital ads were the ONLY place it was mentioned) led to such a ridiculous crowd of people ordering pizzas that most days we were shutting down after five or six hours after opening because we were selling out.

Once the campaign resumed, it continued to deliver strong performance. The campaign achieved an impressive click-through rate (CTR) of 0.66%, which is nearly 10 times the national average for display ads. The overwhelming success of this campaign showed just how effective digital advertising can be when targeting the right audience with the right message

Since then, the franchisee has continued to rely on Mobile Conquesting strategies and has placed three additional orders for digital campaigns, proving the long-term value of a solid digital marketing approach
