In an era where digital presence is crucial, five local funeral homes came together to leverage their collective buying power, seeking to promote their services to those in need of funeral arrangements. Historically reliant on traditional advertising methods like television and newspapers, they recognized the pressing need to establish a strong online presence, especially with the growing popularity of online obituaries. This year marked a pivotal shift, with their marketing strategy going 100% digital

A Tailored Digital Strategy

Our primary focus was on reaching adults aged 45 and older, a demographic that often seeks funeral services. To enhance our targeting, we employed behavioral strategies aimed at users actively searching for topics like Inheritance & Estate Planning, Hospitals & Treatment Centers, and Seniors & Retirement

Through social media, we implemented a multi-faceted approach that included Newsfeed Carousel ads, engaging video ads, and access to the Facebook Audience Network—the world’s largest native mobile ad network—ensuring their ads reached audiences even outside the social media platform

To capture the attention of potential clients, we compiled a comprehensive list of 44 keywords focused on terms related to preplanning, funeral arrangements, and cremation. This approach directed online users to their website, where a retargeting strategy was employed to engage visitors who left the site without taking action

Remarkable Results

The outcome of this digital campaign was unprecedented, marking the best year the company has ever experienced. We meticulously tracked calls, form fill-outs, and appointments booked at each of the five locations

Over the course of the year, our campaigns generated 1.7 million impressions, resulting in 5,775 clicks and doubling the number of view-through visits—instances where users visited the client’s website after seeing an ad, even if they didn’t click on it. The average click-through rate (CTR) stood at 0.41%, nearly six times the national average

Our client is ecstatic with these results, and in response to this success, we are excited to introduce native keyword and native category targeting into their overall marketing strategy, taking their campaign to new heights
