A Night to Remember: Driving Attendance for a Local Masquerade Ball

In a vibrant effort to support individuals with disabilities, a local nonprofit organization hosted a masquerade ball, inviting high school students and their parents to enjoy a night of fun while raising awareness for their mission. With free admission for all guests, the challenge was to drive attendance and ensure the event made a meaningful impact on the community.

The Strategy

To maximize outreach, we implemented a targeted digital marketing campaign focused on the local area. Our strategy included a mix of Facebook News Feed ads, Facebook Audience Network placements, and retargeting efforts using static display ads. Here’s how we tailored our approach:

  • Audience Targeting: We specifically aimed to reach individuals interested in charitable causes, disability awareness, and nonprofit organizations. By incorporating interest categories linked to specific disabilities—such as the National Down Syndrome Society, National Autism Association, and Cerebral Palsy Alliance—we ensured our messaging resonated with the right audience.
  • Age-Specific Targeting: Given that the event was designed for families, we narrowed our focus to parents of teenagers aged 13-18 years.
  • Retargeting: We also engaged individuals who had previously interacted with the client’s website within the past 60 days, reinforcing the event’s message and encouraging them to attend.

The Results

The results of the campaign were nothing short of impressive:

  • The ad campaign achieved an overall Click-Through Rate (CTR) of 1.18%, more than 16 times the national average.
  • We garnered 44,421 impressions and 526 clicks, driving significant interest in the event.
  • Engagement metrics were strong, with 865 post engagements (including clicks to the site, profiles, or calls to action) and over 115 post shares and reactions (likes, emojis, etc.).
  • The turnout for the masquerade ball exceeded expectations, leading the facility to open an additional section to accommodate the influx of attendees. The client was absolutely thrilled with the outcome!

Conclusion

This campaign not only succeeded in raising awareness about the nonprofit’s mission but also fostered community engagement and support. By effectively utilizing targeted digital strategies, we helped create an unforgettable night for attendees, demonstrating the power of thoughtful marketing in driving community involvement.
