A nationwide truck stop chain was on a mission to boost applications for their fleet credit card, but they wanted to target a very specific audience: professional truck drivers with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Vici Media stepped in to design a digital strategy that would effectively reach this niche market

Digital Strategy: Precision Targeting Through Technology

To achieve this goal, we launched an online campaign that integrated a Mobile Conquesting strategy with Cross-Platform Display Targeting. This innovative approach allowed us to follow potential applicants across various ad platforms and devices, maximizing our reach and visibility

The campaign utilized a “universal pixel” that organized digital device IDs associated with individuals across all their devices. This means that whether a user clicked on our mobile ad or simply viewed it, they would continue to see our display ads as they navigated other platforms. By leveraging mobile device IDs, IP addresses, and cookies, we ensured a seamless and consistent ad experience

Our targeting focused on adults aged 18 and older with a CDL, employing behavioral categories related to their profession—everything from local trucking and oil transport to heavy hauling and refrigerated trucking. We also geo-fenced and geo-retargeted 99 truck stops, strategically reaching potential truck drivers within a 20-mile radius of key cities

Results: Strong Engagement and Verified Visits

The results of our campaign were impressive. We served over 245,000 ads, generating 464 clicks for a click-through rate (CTR) of 0.19%, significantly higher than the national average of 0.07%. But the most compelling metric was our visit tracking: we recorded 147 verified visits to the truck stop locations thanks to our targeted mobile location strategy. Additionally, we saw 15 credit page views on desktop, indicating strong interest from users seeking more information when at their computers

By employing a targeted digital marketing strategy, we successfully connected the truck stop chain with professional truck drivers, increasing awareness and driving applications for their fleet credit card
