A local community college needed to increase enrollment in several key programs, including its Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, Equine Studies, and Agribusiness coursework. Additionally, they wanted to generate awareness for an in-state scholarship for dual-enrolled high school students and attract non-traditional adult students looking to further their education. To achieve these goals, the college partnered with Vici Media to create a comprehensive, targeted digital campaign

Digital Strategy: Reaching Prospective Students Where It Counts

To effectively promote the college's various programs and reach its diverse target audience, Vici Media implemented a combination of Mobile Conquesting, Geo-Fencing, and Native Ads

  • Mobile Conquesting Ads: These ads targeted mobile devices that had recently visited college and university placement services or admissions offices. By focusing on key locations like high schools, career fairs, and job fairs, the campaign reached prospective students in real-time on their mobile devices. We also implemented Geo-Retargeting and Geo-Retargeting Lookalike Audiences to continue engaging with users after they left the Geo-fence, helping us reach similar individuals with high conversion potential.
  • Keyword Targeting: To reach students specifically interested in Agriculture and Equine Studies, we employed keyword targeting and ran Native Ads. Native Ads naturally blend into the websites they appear on, offering higher click-through rates (CTRs) and better user engagement. The campaign included Native Retargeting to remind users who had previously visited the college's website of its programs, increasing the chances of conversion.
  • Facebook and Instagram Ads: For the nursing and CNA programs, we allocated part of the budget to Facebook and Instagram ads. A mix of Carousel Ads and Lead Generation Ads was used to tell the college’s story and engage prospective students. The carousel format allowed the college to highlight the personal and professional benefits of pursuing a career in nursing and the unique advantages of enrolling in this particular college.

Results: Increased Awareness and Enrollment

The multi-tiered digital campaign successfully generated awareness across the college’s diverse program offerings. By using a targeted approach with Mobile Conquesting, Geo-Fencing, Native Ads, and social media ads, the college was able to reach prospective students where they were most likely to engage—with their mobile devices and on social platforms

The combination of Geo-Retargeting and Lookalike Audiences ensured that the ads continued to reach new, relevant users, leading to sustained interest in the college’s programs. Meanwhile, the carousel format used in social ads for the CNA program resonated deeply with users by telling the bigger story behind why nursing is a rewarding profession

By leveraging these strategic digital efforts, the community college saw a significant increase in interest and enrollment, especially for their in-demand Certified Nursing Assistant, Equine Studies, and Agribusiness programs
