An upscale auto dealership specializing in new and used luxury vehicles wanted to connect with a highly specific audience: people who had recently moved into the area within the past six months, purchased homes valued at $400K or more, and were in the market for a luxury car. With an already robust digital marketing presence, the client sought to elevate their efforts by leveraging Amazon Premium to capture this niche audience

The Strategy: Tapping into Amazon and Polk Automotive Data

To help the client reach their ideal customer base, Vici Media recommended running Amazon Video Ads, which have historically generated the highest click-through rates. By using Polk Automotive targeting data in conjunction with Amazon Behavioral targeting, we honed in on individuals in the market for luxury vehicles, including those specifically searching for brands like Audi

We layered this approach with lookalike targeting and Amazon Retargeting, allowing the client to engage potential customers based on their online behaviors and interests. This included reaching individuals through their Amazon purchase history, search habits, and as they browsed across Amazon properties like IMDb.com and thousands of other high-quality websites and apps

The Results: High Engagement and Increased Website Traffic

The Amazon Premium campaign delivered impressive results for the dealership. The click-through rate (CTR) reached 0.84%, which is 12x the national average for video ads. Additionally, 55% of viewers watched the video ad to completion, further solidifying brand awareness for those who didn’t immediately click through

Beyond engagement metrics, the campaign generated 68 click conversions and 478 view-thrus to the dealer’s website, driving significant traffic from highly qualified potential buyers. By integrating Amazon Premium into their existing digital strategy, the client was able to expose their brand to a new, targeted audience, leading to increased web traffic and actions that contributed to higher sales
